Welcome to the home of Adventure Becca, where Earth Sciences and exploration meet art and adventure. For me, these things are inseparable.

As an Earth Scientist by training, I use my outdoor sketches and adventures as a means of learning about the Earth and all its hidden wonders. Drawing, painting, running, hiking, scrambling and rock climbing all bring me great joy, and feed a deeper curiosity to explore our vast and complex world.

So, join me, Adventure Becca, as we live life adventurously, exploring the world and the natural, geological phenomena around us, near and far.

I didn't think very much of it, but this year, quite unexpectedly an opportunity arose out of a different pilgrimage experience (volunteering in Lourdes) to go and walk 1 week of the Via Francigena from Lausanne in Switzerland to Aosta in the far north-west of Italy. The full route runs all the way to Rome and one day I would love to return to complete it (probably in stages). But even on this relatively short stretch I found myself falling in love, not for the first time, with the magical western Alps and, more importantly, the pilgrims I met along the way, especially Pilgrim Alex and Léa, who continue on to Rome.
